Many are surprised to learn that insurance does not cover the purchase or upgrades to handicap accessible vehicles. Families must pay tens of thousands of dollars for these vehicles, and many go with out.

Families with disabled children already encounter overwhelming financial burdens, as well as day to day stress that few of us will ever understand.

At the Driven Foundation, our goal is to give families the support they deserve allowing them to focus on other priorities. We work directly with our families to enusre the vehicles provided by our organization will meet their specific needs.

Please consider making a recurring monthly donation of $25.00 or more. These funds will be utilized to fulfill our mission to provide individuals and families with life changing vehicles, ensuring better access to their community.

Who We Are & How We Got Here

Several years ago, I noticed a neighbor struggling to get his daughter into their family car for a medical appointment. We had learned that their child had been diagnosed with a rare neurological condition requiring her to permanently utilize a wheelchair.

After speaking with her father, we realized that they could not afford a wheelchair accessible van and that insurance did not cover any cost associated with such vehicles.

It was difficult to see them struggle and a persistent voice in my mind was urging for me to help in some way.

My family and I began a fundraising campaign to purchase a handicap van for the family. Once we had secured the funds and purchased the vehicle, we invited everyone that donated or assisted in the fundraising to our local park to celebrate and hand the keys over to the family.

During the celebration, we noticed everyone in the community talking and engaging with the family. As often times happens, people are unwilling to speak or ask questions of families with disabled children as they feel it could be intrusive or uncomfortable. Not only were we able to secure a needed vehicle for this family, we inadvertently built an entire community around them showing them love and support.

It was within this moment, that I realized that I would one day start this foundation.
